Betty Esmonde is our 1st Runner Up for the 2015 Premmie Hero Volunteer Awards.
Over the past three years, Betty Esmonde has become an essential part of Cairns hospital’s Special Care Nursery.
Volunteering two days a week over the past three years, she works to keep the premmies of Northern Queensland in clean clothes and snuggly beds.
Betty’s loving sensitivity makes a massive difference to the Special Care Nursery. Her tireless work is so important to the precious baby’s thermoregulation and developmental care. Betty sorts donated clothes, labels them, washes them and then once dry, she lovingly folds them and packs them into the warming cabinet. She is very sensitive to the environment in which she works and makes an incredible contribution to the unit. Without Betty, the staff at the Cairns Special Care Nursery would be lost without her.
Betty puts the ‘Special’ and ‘Care’ into the Special Care Nursery and her commitment to the unit is unwavering.
Congratulations to Betty and thank you!
Betty has won a $250 Accor Accommodation gift card, two movie tickets, a beautiful jewellery piece donated by Sistaco, a uniquely designed medal and a framed certificate.
