A prem baby is hard enough to cope with but when it’s your first it’s more harder to take everything in. The unknown is just a scary place to be and I’ll never forget the support you gave us. More importantly the care you gave to my miracle boy. You all do such a great job and are rarely recognised for it. Thank you. My fabulous 2 year old wouldn’t be here now without you.

Premmie baby’s name(s): Charlotte
Premmie baby’s year of birth(s): 2005
Length of stay: 6 weeks
Baby’s gestation: 32 weeks
Your thank you message:
To have a child born 8 weeks early is scary enough, but to have a child born in a foreign country is even scarier. The staff at Bielefeld were just wonderful, they reassured me at every stage, and ensured English speaking nurses were always available. Charlotte thrived, and although there were cultural differences, I always knew she was getting the very best care available.

Thank you to all the nurses, doctors, interpreters and admin staff (who also arranged our wedding in the hospital chapel) … We will never forget your role in our lives. I so hope that one day we can bring Charlotte back to see where she was born.
