Welcome to the L'il Aussie Prems July 2009 Newsletter. Since our last newsletter we have 25 new registered members. We welcome you all to our community and please be sure to introduce yourself and your little premmie babies to us, we would love to meet you. We would like to offer congratulations to our prem babies and our members who celebrate their birthday this month in July. Kelly, Jaiden (23wks), Hannah, Talia (27+4), Rachael, Natalie, Kiska (33+5wks), Jaycob(33wks), Pixie, Delacey (26wks) and everyone else celebrating their birthday this month, happy birthday! If you or your childs birthday is not included but should be please reply to our birthday thread on the forum so we don't miss it next year! Towards the end of June L'il Aussie Prems had a TOTAL transformation and revamp. The new design showcases the sites features, birth stories, articles, premmie of the moment, polls and more in a nicely set out format. We hope you enjoy the new look and don't forget to view our front page polls from time to time as they are updated on a regular basis. Our very own unique & specially made "prem on board" & "prems on board" car signs have arrived. Created with our premmie babies in mind these signs come with a suction cup and are made from reflective material so they will be seen day or night. The signs are available for $13.00 plus postage. What a great way to let other drivers know that you have precious cargo onboard. Congratulations to all the gorgeous babies born since our last newsletter. Welcome to the world Toby (25+2wks), Tristan (34+3wks), Jenna (FT), Matthew (FT) and Zelia (FT). We have a HUGE "funny photo" competition coming soon. We have six of Australia's finest photographers who have banded together to bring this amazing competition to our families with prizes spanning across six states. Our Major Sponsor LAP has fantastic news to share! We have found a major new sponsor - Pumpkin Patch! Julia and L'il Aussie Prems will soon be featured on a new channel 9 TV program called "Money for Jam", a show which aims to help people to make, save or get more for their money. Julia spent over 8 hours filming a segment for "Money for Jam" with Shane Crawford, following Julia's journey to gain a major sponsor. With the help of the production crew at Channel 9, Pumpkin Patch came to hear the story about the L’il Aussie Prems website and Julia's dedication over the past 2 years helping families of premature children by building, administering and supporting the website. Julia commented that it was a crazy day of filming. They started at her home then went on to a live radio broadcast with community radio LightFM in Melbourne, which is where Julia first spoke to Craig, a senior manager from Pumpkin Patch. Julia later met with Craig and his colleague Trish at the Channel 9 studios where they offered to become LAP’s major sponsor. Julia believes that no one should ever pay for the sort of emotional support LAP provides, and was happy to continue to fund the site when needed. She is passionate about offering services to families of prems and is very grateful that Pumpkin Patch share the same vision. National Premmie Day 2009                              The National Premmie Foundation is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual National Premmie Day with celebrations occurring Australia wide to mark the births of our smallest and most vulnerable newborns. Friday July 31st 2009 is the day to celebrate with our Little Aussie Battlers – our premature or seriously ill infants - as well as to remember those babies who did not survive their journey.  The National Premmie Foundation invites parents of premature and sick newborns to hold a National Premmie Day event in their local community. The Premmie Foundation also celebrates National Premmie Day with the Children's Rose. Grab a rose for yourself, as a gift for a family member or friend currently in the Neonatal Intensive care unit, or to support the work of the National Premmie Foundation. Then plant your rose and watch it flourish as it flowers and grows over the years. These roses help raise funds to support the work of the National Premmie Foundation. L'il Aussie Prems will be holding a live chat on Friday 31st from 7.00pm for those families unable to attend celebrations throughout the day. With events being held throughout the day and our live chat at night we hope that you can join with us and celebrate our little miracles.  For further details and to view events details please visit www.prembaby.org.au
