Our ‘Wear Green for Premmies’ campaign is held annually in April each year and part of the funds raised through the event in 2016, enabled our Foundation to once again donate equipment to nurseries to help assist medical staff with saving the lives of premature babies in their care.
In 2016, our event supported the Mater Hospital Rockhampton (SCN), St Vincent’s Private Hospital (SCN), John Hunter Hospital (NICU) and Women’s & Children’s Hospital (NICU) who were the four hospital recipients of our annual donations.
L’il Aussie Prems Foundation kindly donated the following equipment to those nurseries from the items listed on their ‘wish lists’ provided to our committee;
|Mater Hospital Rockhampton (SCN)||QLD||2 x Spectra S2 Hospital Grade Breast Pumps|
|St Vincent’s Private Hospital (SCN)||VIC||Printing of Booklets and Butterfly’s for SCN Cots|
|John Hunter Hospital (NICU)||NSW||Arts & Crafts for Refurbished Unit|
|Women’s & Children’s Hospital (NICU)||SA||1 x Nellcor Pulse Oximeter (TBF)|
Total Purchased – $4,980
Without the generosity of these donations, it is difficult for hospitals to access equipment that is so important in neonatal care which is why we are proud of our longstanding tradition to give back to those who save the lives of Australia’s tiniest battlers. To date, we have now donated up to $25,000 towards the purchase of equipment for sixteen nurseries and milk banks throughout Australia over the past six years.
