Our ‘Wear Green for Premmies’ campaign is held annually in April each year and part of the funds raised through the event in 2014, enabled our Foundation to once again donate equipment to nurseries to help assist medical staff with saving the lives of premature babies in their care.
In 2014, our event supported the Mater Mother’s Hospital (NICU), Royal Women’s Hospital (NICU), Dandenong Hospital (SCN) and Royal Darwin Hospital (SCN) as our four hospital recipients from our annual donations.
L’il Aussie Prems Foundation kindly donated the following equipment to those nurseries from the items listed on their ‘wish lists’ provided to our committee;
|Mater Mother’s Hospital||QLD||2 x 10 inch Teac Portable DVD Players
4 x Kids DVD’s
2 x Parent DVD’s
|Royal Women’s Hospital||VIC||1 x Motorised Recliner Chair|
|Dandenong Hospital||VIC||1 x Astodia Diaphanoscope
(to help locate blood vessels on premature babies)
|Royal Darwin Hospital||NT||1 x Cannon EOS 1200D Camera (5yr warranty)
1 x EF 50mm lense, suitable for dim lit rooms
1 x Ultra memory card (32gb)
1 x Additional battery for camera
1 x Lowepro camera bag
4 x Premmie Nests
Total Purchased – $6,950
Without the generosity of these donations, it is difficult for hospitals to access equipment that is so important in neonatal care which is why we are proud of our longstanding tradition to give back to those who save the lives of Australia’s tiniest battlers. To date, we have now donated over $16,000 towards the purchase of equipment for eight nurseries throughout Australia over the past four years.
