Our ‘Wear Green for Premmies’ campaign is held annually in April each year and part of the funds raised through the event in 2013, enabled our Foundation to once again donate equipment to nurseries to help assist medical staff with saving the lives of premature babies in their care.
In 2013, our event supported the Monash Medical Centre (NICU), RBWH (NICU/Milk Bank), Ipswich Base Hospital (SCN) andBallarat Base Hospital (SCN) who were the four hospital recipients of our annual donations.
L’il Aussie Prems Foundation kindly donated the following equipment to those nurseries from the items listed on their ‘wish lists’ provided to our committee;
|Monash Medical Centre (NICU)||VIC||1 x Grasby Apnoea Monitor|
|RBWH (NICU/Milk Bank)||QLD||100 x Fildes Thermometers
Contribution towards 100 x Carrington Cooler Bags
|Ipswich Base Hospital (SCN)||QLD||2 x 10 inch Teac Portable DVD Players
2 x Kids DVD’s
|Ballarat Base Hospital (SCN)||VIC||2 x SureTemp Electronic Thermometers|
Total Purchased – $4,320
Without the generosity of these donations, it is difficult for hospitals to access equipment that is so important in neonatal care which is why we are proud of our longstanding tradition to give back to those who save the lives of Australia’s tiniest battlers. To date, we have now donated almost $10,000 towards the purchase of equipment for four nurseries throughout Australia over the past three years.
