Hiya Jules and everyone else,

My little Emma starts pre-school next year also.. and once again it is fraught with worries and apprehension.... though in the past few days we seem to have mastered the potty training.. she has just decided to do it... so YAY.. am very excited..

But of course, Emma also has sensory issues.. she, like Ronan was born at 27 weeks, and we spent many weeks beside her crib.. she came home on oxygen and still has problems with her lungs... and we are battling with a major problem.. she does not eat solid foods.. she exists on formula in bottles .. and she does not self feed.. we have to feed it too her.. how this is going to work next year is a major worry and stress..

It is fantastic to think that our little girl is going to kinder.. from someone who started as a tiny little scrap only weighed a tub of butter (510 grams was her birth weight) and now she is going to be a big girl at kinder.. she goes to 3 yr old kinder for 3 hours a week (we cannot let her go any longer becuase of her feeding issues) and she is doing well... though she does get bullied a bit by her peers because she is sooo small....

But we are excited about this next milestone.. she is no longer our tiny little baby.. just our tiny little girl who is so much older than her age.... bless her.. such a mother hen is our Emma...

So YAY for us parents who have got this far.. and may we shed lots of tears as we watch our little miracles walk through those doors away from us next year.... it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.. such a long and though journey... but just look at them now... !!!

Hi, Congratulations!

My eldest Hayden was born at Monash in May 07 at 25 weeks gestation PROM we spent 10 weeks there until Hayden was strong enought o be transferred home to Newcastle JHH ( we were on hlidays in Victoria when he was born). We have since had another little boy Dylan who I successfully made to 38 weeks. I was taking progesterone suppositories to stop my cervix from softening, 2 hrs bedrest a day (from 8 weeks), weekly obgyn appointments and also was in hospital on bedrest for 6 weeks to get me past 35 weeks. Just wanted to say that I can understand your feelings about getting yourself mentally ready for pregnancy again and trying to let yourself enjoy it without wondering about the whatifs. I dont think really started to let go of all of it until I was over the magic 32 week mark when survival increases drastically. Life with two little boys is fantastic! Although a handful. and its amazing how given the proper start how babies thrive. Our little Dylan is seven months old, trying to crawl, pulling himself up onto furniture and is already trying to show his independance. It is a different ride. Hope everything is going very well.

Oh Sally... I know exactly how you are feeling right now. I had been there too.

Your advice is good and always go with your gut instincts... and mothers intuition. It is very powerful!!

Wishing you the very best this pregnancy and I look forward to hearing all the positive updates

It is truly amazing. My great grandmother was also thought to be a very early prem and was sent home in a shoebox wrapped in cotton wool and she lived to be 104!

I met Adele at Lifes Little Treasures charity dinner for the work we do with premature babies in June. Adele told the room of 100 people the story about Elora's fight for life and it was just amazing. Adele spoke about her battles, fears and belief in her very premature daughter but to see how happy they both are now just brings tears to your eyes, happy tears of course!
