In March this year, i took on a challenge to help raise awareness of L’il Aussie Prems Foundation for their annual ‘Wear Green for Premmies’ campaign. The challenge given to me by my good friend Trish, was to ‘Ink for Prems’. Prior to the challenge, i never had any tattoos. It has never been on my bucket list of things to do and it was certainly not something i was going to do anytime in the near future, well that is what i thought.
In early March, i had an appointment with the red cross and gave blood before my tattoo. The team felt that this was an important step as we will be ineligible to give blood for 6 months after our ink was done. This was a very rewarding feeling and in 6 months time i will certainly be making an appointment to give blood once again. It is something so simple to do and can save up to 3 lives, more importantly it may be used one day to save the lives of premature babies.
New of the challenge soon spread and we gained a total of 15 team members willing to ‘Ink for Prems’. It was an incredible experience but not one i wish to do again. It was for a great cause and we raised close to $1,000 but i am not a tattoo kind of person however in saying that, i am proud of being apart of the team and completing the challenge. I think it looks fabulous and i know, L’il Aussie Prems Foundation will always have my back – literally!

In July, i will be taking on a new challenge by running for prems in a green tutu and green shoelaces with a team of mums from Melbourne. We want to stand out from the crowd and help raise funds for this incredible Foundation. This is another 1st for me this year, entering a fun-run, so please get behind our team and make a tax deductible donation today.
